Hazard Mourns Loss of Respected Businesswoman Linda
Sparkman, 55, lead designer and part-owner of Silk Purse Furniture and
Interiors, passed away Saturday, August 20th, after a long battle with
Breast Cancer. She was the daughter of Gerri and the late Denver
Campbell, owners and operators of Denver Campbell’s Market in the
Walkertown section of Hazard from 1953 to 1986. Her father was
also a decorated WWII pilot. To Faron, her children & all the family--Although Scott & I may not be able to be there in the physical as we are out of state, please know that each of you are in our thoughts & prayers. Linda has been a great influence in my life and she probably never even knew just how much. As a young woman if there was ever any one person I aspired to be more like it was Linda. She had this kind, gracious beauty that radiated through her as a wife, a mother and most of all as a child of God. I loved her more than she ever knew and I will forever miss her sweet smile and kind spirit. She had such a quiet strength and she touched so many through her witness and her beautiful gift of music. I believe with all of my heart that she is playing the most beautiful music she has ever played as our Savior says to her, "Well done my good and faithful servant." She will live always with our Lord Jesus and forever in our hearts. Love & Prayers, Jackie & Scott Williams, Hazard, KY Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sparkman family at this very difficult time. Every since I have been in this world she has been one of my favorite friends and sure one of the most beautiful! I remember the many times I was in her home as a child. Walk into the living room and see those three beautiful portraits of those three little blonds! Denver and Geri were so proud of all three. The middle one was my buddy! We use to have parties at a few of our friends house very year. Linda's, Glenna.s and mine for a few! It was those good ole' parties were we could have our known crushes in front of our parents and everything was safe and we were of sound minds! When I worked for Dr. Tanier years ago, Linda was one of our patients. She fought hard, that was in the 90's! Linda was always a leader, a trend setter and someone all the class loved! She never wore an "uppity smile", she wore "I am a sister of yours smile"! She was such a wonderful lady. Her art work was amazing, Linda had many many talents! I will miss you but I have comfort that your battle is over. There is no more test to take and you are now rewarded with many many things promised in the Bible! You always made straight A's in school and I know you are still at the front of the class. Faron you have been a great husband to Linda. You have been separated from your best friend but not forever. She will be yours for eternity! Families are forever. Mary Goff Westerfield, Hazard, KY So sorry to hear of your loss. Linda was one of the sweetest people I've ever known.
