Congratulations to Lyndon Combs

Lyndon Combs of Hazard was the first to solve Mystery #47.  Carlene Shackelford and J. Strong of Hazard also came up the correct answer.  The answer was motorcycleIn 1938 - the Hazard City Commissioners approved the purchase of a motorcycle for the Hazard City Police Department.  Hazard City officials at the time included Mayor William Engle, Chief of Police – D.Y. Wooton, Perry County Sheriff – Justice Begley, City Manager – G. W. Shaw, Commissioners – Ross Blondell, C.B. (Shanks) Overhultz, George Flynn, and E. C. Wooton.
