June 1949

"The Romance of Kentucky" is the name of a new radio show heard over WKIC this week.  This program, which combines music and history, glorifies the great natural wonders of the state of Kentucky.  Each week listeners will be told one of Kentucky's most interesting spots.

Seven baseball games will be broadcast by WKIC this week.  There will be three Hazard Bombers baseball games and four Cincinnati Reds games.  The Bombers will play Morristown at home on June 22nd and 23rd and will meet Jenkins at the local park on June 24th.  All games begin at 7:30 PM on WKIC.  Brooklyn will be at Cincinnati for a night game on June 21st and for afternoon contests on June 22nd and 23rd.  Philadelphia will be in the Queen City on June 24th.

"The Masterworks of Music," heard Sunday afternoons at 2 PM over WKIC will present a performance this week of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor and Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet music.  Masterworks of Music is a program of symphonic favorites, performed by leading artists on Columbia Masterworks Records, hosted by WKIC announcers.
