Sam M. Lindon was born on a farm in Magoffin County on February 8, 1884. He remained there until his marriage to Clementine Crace of Belknap, Kentucky. They lived on a farm in Morgan County for about seven years where their two sons were born, Corbett of Lexington, who died in 1968, and Cortez of Hazard. Cortez was a sales rep. at Home Office Supply in Hazard. S. M. Lindon then moved his family to Wolfe County where he was active in politics, serving as a magistrate. He moved to Perry County in 1939 where he managed a chicken farm. Three years later he was employed at Blue Diamond Coal Company in Bonnyman as a carpenter. His first wife, Clementine, died in 1956 and he remarried and moved back to Magoffin County where he lived until the death of his second wife. Lindon returned to Hazard and married Ida Mae Campbell in 1966 living on Nunn Street in Hazard. Lindon's sister was married to Lee F. Lykins. Sam Lindon died in 1978. |
