Congratulations to Sherry Smith of Hazard, KY
Sherry Smith was the first to identify Mystery Person #39 as Annice Luttrell. Annice was born in Hazard on February 1st 1898. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Turner, resided and reared their children in Walkertown for over half a century. Annice attended Hazard Baptist Institute and Hazard High School. In 1915 she met and married Sam K. Luttrell Sr., who was employed as an electrician for Columbus Mining Company for twenty-six years. She had three children, two daughters and one son. Her son, Sam Luttrell, was the Hazard Police Chief for many years. Annice Luttrell was a charter member of Petrey Memorial Baptist Church, which was organized in 1922. During the 1960s she held a Ladies Bible Class at the church. She had a great interest in ceramics and had a shop in the basement of her home. Annice Luttrell died in 1980.
